Algoritmika - a coding school for children
A coding school for children aged 7-10. 4,345 leads at $3.17 through a quiz and a trial lesson
Parents think programming is too hard for young children. The entry barrier is high: it is unclear what is taught, why, and what the child will get in the end
We removed two barriers at once. A quiz, «Does your child have an aptitude for IT?», gives the parent a personal result and recommendation. A free trial lesson where the child builds their first game in 45 minutes lets parents see the result immediately: that same evening the child plays the game they made
We will review your situation on numbers: current campaigns, cost-per-lead forecast, launch plan
Task
A coding school for children aged 7-10 was entering the Russian-speaking markets of Belarus and Kazakhstan. The main barrier was in the parent’s head: programming seems too hard for young children, and it is unclear what is taught and what the child gets. While that feeling lasts, a course ad runs into a high cost per lead and low paid conversion
What we rebuilt
A quiz instead of a form. The parent takes a short quiz, «Does your child have an aptitude for IT?», and gets a result with a personal recommendation. The inquiry after the quiz is deliberate: the parent already understands why the child needs a trial lesson and treats the manager’s call as a continuation
A trial lesson with a result the same evening. In a free lesson the child builds their first game in 45 minutes. The parent sees the result immediately instead of a promise that in six months the child will understand algorithms
Two channels, one funnel. Meta Ads and VK Ads led to the same quiz; creatives spoke to the parent about the child’s abilities and first result, with no programming jargon
Numbers for the period
- $13,785 ad budget
- 4,345 leads at $3.17
- 12% paid after the trial lesson
What it means for an online school
Cheap leads without a result in the lesson turn into load on the sales team. The combination of a personal quiz and an instant trial result gave both a low cost per lead and 12% of trial students paying. The project continues, rotating channels and creatives for new groups
